An instant classic from Claus Preisinger. This Austrian Zweigelt and St. Laurent blend is best served slightly chilled, with a loaded palate of blackberry and a touch of spice. Its tannins are soft enough that it could easily be enjoyed with or without food. Stunner.
The old school label and bottle shape pay homage to vintage lemonade bottles of the 1920s. Puszta, which translates to “prairie” or “plains” in Hungarian, harkens back to when the vineyards used for this wine were still part of Hungary. And Libre, Spanish for “free”, is exactly how you should feel when sipping this wine.
Claus Preisinger has been working biodynamically near the shores of Lake Neusiedlersee in Burgenland for over a decade and now farms nineteen hectares over some sixty parcels, producing a staggering number of cuvees each year.
