Mas Candi

Jané broke 500 years of family tradition who had always sold their crop to large cava producers. In 2006 Ramón, his wife & and best friend/oenologist Toni Carbó vinifying a portion of his grapes under the Mas Desig label. They have carved out a reputation for dedication to both land and grape preservation. This small winery seeks interaction with the landscape, working their native varieties and recovering their old Catalan grapes, which have almost disappeared such as: Mandó, Monica, Cannonnau and Roigenc.

Like many wineries in Europe – choosing to go green by devoting their enthusiasm to nature – Mas Candi is a little different in that their passion to ecology has been fueled in large from their inheritance. They choose to avoid chemical fertilizers and shun antifungal treatments or pesticides in their vineyards. The house of Mas Candi is located in Les Gunyoles d’Avinyonet, just at the gates of the Natural Park of Garraf.
