Feldstuck Skin Contact Chardonnay, Matthias Warnung
ORGANIC / VEGAN / NATURAL / LOW SULPHITE
Ripe, savoury, and aromatic with notes of florals, grapefruit, ripe pithy fruit, and a touch of mustardy spice. The mouthful is lean and mineral yet nicely grippy thanks to the skin contact. Good acidity leads to a saline and slightly smoky finish.
Grapes are hand harvested and pressed as whole bunches to 8 year old 400 liter barrels for fermentation. The wine spends 2 years in barrel for elevage and is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with a small amount of sulfur added.
Matthias grew up in a small, family-owned winery. He spent time in South Africa and Southern France, where his passion for natural wines grew steadily. When he returned to Austria, he took over the vineyard and now works fully organically.
