A lovely full-bodied Cariñena and Cabernet Sauvignon blend from the prestigious Priorat region in Catalunya, its 15% alcohol is nicely balanced by lots of plump, rounded dark fruits, such as blackberry and black cherry. It is bottled without any additions, including any sulphur or animal products.
Jordí and Agustí are Priorat natives and friends since infancy. They work with old Garnacha and Cariñena vines, planted on the region's famous llicorella soil. They have, however, eschewed the Priorat DO designations, allowing them to make wines that are less extracted and less oaked than those of their neighbours, whom too often mask the purity and elegance of the grapes in favour of homogenous, full-bodied, commercial wines. Instead they favour stainless steel, amphorae and old oak for their fermentation, giving the wines freshness and varietal purity.
