Barrel-aged Nebbiolo reminiscent of light Beaujolais. A nose of violets and rose flowers. Strawberry and cherry flavours come through, with minerality and a spicy finish with cloves. Tannins and spice dance on the tongue. Medium body that comes together quite nicely - a lighter, delicate and refreshing version of Barbaresco.
This wine comes from several plots in Valtellina lying at an altitude of 350-400 metres and planted on granite and schist soils. They use environmentally-friendly agriculture and low yields. Because the vines lie on a very steep hillside, the harvest is manual and carried on shoulders, in small baskets.
