Tornai Somloi Apatsagi Furmint
VEGAN
A great value full-bodied white, grown on the volcanic slopes of the Somlò hill in Hungary. It has nice rounded flavours of pear, quince and pineapple, along with the nuttiness of almonds and slightly toasty, spicy notes from some time spent in oak. The weight in the mouth is lovely, with a creaminess coming from Malolactic Fermentation that is still balanced by the naturally high acidity from the Furmint grape.
The Tornai Pincészet is the largest winery in Somlò. Tornai has a long winemaking tradition that often goes overlooked by drinkers who know Hungary only for its sweet Tokaji wines. Somlò is a growing area blessed with ideal growing conditions, volcanic soils, and sheltering from the elements.
