Offbeat wines are super small batch, low intervention, terroir focused wines. After 10 years in the English wine industry, Daniel Ham said he had decided to establish his own small sustainable winery on a biodynamic vineyard in Wiltshire. The new winery, located on the edge of Salisbury is environmentally friendly, the floor has been partially sunk into the surrounding chalk to provide natural temperature control and electricity is generated from a bank of solar panels on the roof.
Daniel sources the grapes from local growers. Varieties from older vineyards in the UK. Planted with unfashionable disease-resistant hybrid varieties. These vines often produce excellent quality fruit with very little chemical intervention. Offbeat’s debut wine sold out within a matter of weeks in 2019. The production in this new facility is limited to around 10,000 bottles. Which means they are so very rare, get your hands on one before they are gone. These three are Skinny Dip (skin contact Solaris), Wild Juice Chase (Triomphe) Pet Nat and Mind Over Matters Pet Nat (Siegerrebe and Solaris)
